SNES Controller

Post by AntMan »

This may have been asked before but I haven't found any posts on it...
When modding the controller for an SNESp, do you open the wire and follow a pin chart and solder each wire directly to the controller port board? If I'm being unclear sorry it is hard to describe. I've seen pin charts like on the doomportable.org(?) website and I see the corresponding points on the SNES controller port board, I'm asking do you match the wires to have it directly wired?

Yes you match the wires to the pin out and solder them right to the board (base of the controller ports).

That's what I was going to do, except I still haven't bought any tactile switches to do it with, and the snes controller that only uses one chip also requires a resistor.

I would do that, but I want to have the original buttons (maybe not L&R, that might be difficult).
