2.70 Firmware Update (PS3)

With the advent of the 2.70 firmware update on 4/1, PS3 owners have finally gotten their wish for cross-game communication, aside from sending messages back and forth, granted. However, I have to say I'm disappointed by it; for one, it's text-only. No cross-game voice chat yet... Second, there's a relatively small character limit per message you send, so I've found myself breaking sentences longer than... what, fifty characters? Into segments. Thirdly, it actually censors the messages you send. Yeah, that's right, freakin' censorship. Sony, in my humble opinion, has failed yet again in their attempts to bring us PS3 owners cool features by only giving us the bare minimum of what we asked for and then meddling with it further.

Also, I've noticed that my friends list is no longer organized the way it used to be. It now either sorts your friends list by the last time they signed in or in alphabetical order with no regards as to who's currently online. Not a huge deal, but distracting and bothersome nonetheless.

On a brighter note, you now have the ability to copy and paste text, which could come in quite handy.

Overall, I think 2.70, which was rumored to be a huge update loaded with tons of cool features, was a disappointment. What do you guys think?

That seems pretty disappointing, especially since Xbox Live has had most of those features for years.

Come on, Sony, if you want to beat Xbox Live at their own game, you better start at least matching its features. Who cares if your online service is free? That doesn't mean it should be lacking.
