My handheld contest entry: the super gbc!

Post by themadhacker »

Ok, I had an idea that I would not finish my retro duo portable by the deadline, so I threw this together. I never liked the small size of the gbc's B and A buttons, so I dremeled bigger holes and put snes buttons in the old ones' places. To top it off, I painted the hole thing black with krylon fusion paint. The only drwback to this is that when I was replacing the LED with a blue one, I ripped the trace for it clear off, so now no more lit LED. But thast's not important anyway. PICS!

My GBC, surprisingly not overclocked.

The back.

Zelde DX! Notice the sad unlit LED.

Now, I am certain that I will not win the contest because of triton's gp2x, but vote for me anyway! :D .

Well, considering that my N64p is not gonna get done it time, and my spherical controller is probably not as well... Looks like me and you will be competing on our GBC mods.

Nice paintjob.

Oh hush, both of you.

I did not make the contest to win, so even if I end up entering nothing, still a success.

Hmm... I guess I would lose all credibility if I extended the contest, eh?

Do you plan on doing more for this mod? If you need a power LED, you can easily pull 5v off the cart slot (Blue would be pretty dim on the 2.7v power LED line anyways).

I won't be doing any more with it today. In a bit I am going to the mall to buy gym shorts for my next trimaester gym class, and when I get back home, I will be going to work for 4 hours.

Palmer, thought you'd want to know you're the first hit in google for "spherical controller." Still looking forward to seeing it!

I know, I know. If my pre-Spring Break homework does not kill me first, expect to see it around the same time as the April Fools entry. I have been thinking a 360 controller would be more awesome... Oh well, plenty of time to procrastinate.
