NES Router

Post by collingall2005 »

While cleaning out my junk closet i found a Linksys router that was missing the shell, which was conveniently stuffed into an empty NES shell, in which case my roommate jokingly said why don't you make a NES router? So I did!

It was quite simple to implement as the NES shell was cut out to hold a mini-itx computer. While i want to do more with it, it is going to have to wait till I get a new dremel.

Thanks gamecube6, the best part is when you plug it in the routers power light blinks until its fully booted, so it looks like its having problems loading the game.

Can't say i had the same idea, nor invented the original idea of using the NES case for different things, but heres a link to what I did with mine.

Sorry, I have not taken any pictures just video.
I should of took pictures of the progress.........
It took me approximately 3 days, or 3 nights to get the majority work done. Few days I kept toying with the DVD player for ideas.

DVD player cost me 50
NES came with R.O.B. and everything like the old 80s package as well as the original box, 70 bucks on Ebay

I need to fix R.O.B....he can't grip well right now due to lack of power from his gear boxes

Its a Mr. Backup Z64, with a flashed chip, and a 4gig hard drive, has most of the games i like to play on it.

I worked at a local used game store for a while, we were digging through some junk boxes where i found it, i only paid $5 for it, and it rocks, and is apparently worth quite a bit.
