Post by Cast »

Well I started off with my first project a portable ps2.

So far I have cut down the size my ps2 half it's normal size.

Now I just recived my psone lcd and remote and I have not the slightest clue where to begin!

I want to start with the screen.

Can some one help me out please?

I need to know:

Where to hook up the ps2 lcd to the the ps2 motherboard.

What should I expect during this process.

What supplys will I need
---------------------------------------------

And please no suggestions to start on a smaller project I feel with a little help(from you guys) and my sodering skills I can pull this off.

Is it a ps2 slim or regular? You should read about Ben's ps2p.

I believe there is a switch that gets pushed when you close the drive tray.

Which ps2 version do you have? I know on a v4 it's controlled by 2 switches.

Can you be more specific I know of several switches. Is it one of thoese that are color cordinated and have green bases?

Also do I need the motor that brings the tray in and out?

Can I have the disc spin with out the tray motor?

IIRC there are a yellow, a green, and a white switch. You can strip the tray assembly and only keep the laser/snake motor assembly.

So it's either going to be the green or yellow switch or even both perhaps?

Ahh...I'm hope the snake motor isn't the one that is conneted by the red/pink plug in. If so I dissasembled that part aswell.

Also, thanks for all the help and quick responses I really apreciate it.
