Commodore 64 case

Yes it is nice to be able to put your projects INSIDE something isn't it? You know, to hold everything together so it doesn't flop around? Discuss the techniques here!

Commodore 64 case

Post by Sparkfist »

Ok guys I have a commodore 64 case that I'd like to hack apart and use. But I have a few questions.

1. Can I use a jig saw to cut the case? Or should I use a Dremel?

2.Bondo? Never used it, but I read I should get the mix kind, right?

3.Best plastic to use a filler? As I'm obviously going to have a big hole I need to fill. What kind of plastic should I buy or can I cannibalized some of the case?... yeah really cheap like.

Thanks for the replies guys.

My recommendation for cutting it would be a hack saw. Jig saw would be a bit too rough I'd think.

Actually this is something like what I want. As I don't have the Data20, I'm going to use a Commodre 64 case I have.

Gannon, I don't have a hacksaw. I'm going to see if I can do it anyways. I'll just set it up at a slow speed with tape over the line, and hopefully they wont tare it up or worse melt. If it comes to that, I'll either brake down and buy a hacksaw (best idea) or metal cutting blades for my jigsaw.

I'll likely be back in a few days asking about bondo, and paint colors.
