SONY LCD brightness jump mod didn't work

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

SONY LCD brightness jump mod didn't work

Post by riva16 »

I tried the resistor jump on my PSone LCD to increase the brightness, and it didn't work! Why? Is my LCD different somehow? Has anyone else failed the mod? I llooked at the pic and made SURE the mod was right, no bridges or anything... What's the deal?

If you read a bit you'd notice that it doesn't work for every psone lcd. Just like not all psone lcds need the +5V mod to use the screen without a psone.

The tutorial I read didn't say anything about different LCD models not working. It used an official Sony LCD, and so did I... I got the pic off doom portables... Where's this DoP site?

I think he meant PoD (portables...of DOOM!!!!) :P
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

Yeah, I noticed that too, I don't know how that got mixed up.....but the pic is pretty explanatory so if your paying attention it shouldn't be a prob.

Couldn't you just replace that resistor with a weaker one to get justa little more brightness, not as much as you would by just jumping it? Can you post a pic of the exact one?
