bajillion resistors

Can anyone tell me what those bajillion resistors & caps in the lower right of hte 4X4 section of the atari board are for? does it take that many to get a video signal? Also, in your book ben there's something you call a FGC or BGC or big green capacitor or something like that but on the 2600 (4 switch) i got they are brown and cylindrical or so it seems (maybe im just looking at the wrong thing tho!) Annyywwaayys... congrats on the book ben its really good I just got it a few days ago from amazon and find it very easy to understand. But there's no cave tests in the book
