Super Joy III help

Post by jaytee »

Alright, I just got a Super Joy III from a thrift shop for like 2 dollars. Problem is, there's no batteries, battery cover/case, or AC adaptor. Can someone tell me what I can run this off of? I can't tell what goes in the battery part (looks like some sort of battery pack?) and I can't find any information on what kind of power supply is required.

no, it has a standard famicom cart slot.

the reason is has no accessories is because it was loose, not because it was packaged without them.

it has a place for what i assume is a battery pack in the equivilent of the rumble pack slot. I'm pretty sure it takes 4 double A batteries, as i found a similar model on vidgame.net (this one had a genesis 2 style RF on it though, whereas mine doesn't). however, i still have no idea what kind of AC adaptor it requires.

alright, i wired together a battery pack with 4 AAs and some tin foil, and i couldn't get it to power on. The AV cables might not have been pushed in far enough, as the ports on the superjoy don't allow them to go in to a normal length, but i don't think that was the problem.

possible reasons i can think of that it doesn't work:
-the battery power is somehow broken.
-the aluminum foil i used doesn't conduct electricity (or has too much resistance, which seems wrong)
-it is one of the superjoys that requires a cartridge. would that cause it to not send a signal to my tv?
-the whole damn thing is b0rked. i mean, it was in a thrift store.

Also, most super joy IIIs have a small switch under a sticker that you have to flip for them to work.
