Xbox 360 Question
Okay i was about done with my xbox 360 laptop (with out case so far) and discovered the disk drive not running. So i took it apart and found a part out of place. I placed it back in and played a game (it worked) then i photographed the inside of it and put it back together. Assuming i didnt fry it does anyone have an idea of what is wrong. Could it be those chip smashers again?
Help
Also is there anyway I can get the 360 to accept another disk drive (smaller) and could someone show/tell me how to do it so the laptop size can be reduced. (the disk drive is really big for a laptop).
Someone help or show me how to 1 get it working or 2 get it working with another SATA dvd drive.

Oh i just posted here because i relised i posted it in the wrong place (sorry).vskid wrote:Dude, don't post the same thing twice.
Did you take the hard drive itself apart? If so, you're most likely screwed.
This is what i did
1. Disassembled the 360
2. Disassembled the DVD drive to make smaller
3.Took out a circuit board and took pictures of it
4. Put DVD drive back together.
5. Played Game
6. Took Apart Again but did not mess with anything
7.Tried to play game but Game would not be read.
What I want to Do:
get DVD drive (TS-H943) for my Xbox-360 working again
or get the 360 to work with another (smaller) DVD drive
Could someone send me a picture of the inside of theirs so i could see if i missed wired it.

It does not show the insides of the DVD drive. Also do you know if any dvd drive (moded) will work with a 360 because I was going to do that then change the firmware or something.vskid wrote:Here is one, you can find more by searching "xbox 360 disassembly" on google.
I'm not sure if it can use other drives, I'd search for an xbox modding forum and search through their stuff.

It would take more than softmodding to run the games on a normal drive I think. The reason is that normal optical drives read either from outside to inside or vice versa (I don't remember which), and the 360 reads the other way.
