Commodore 64 DTV for $10?

Post by SpongeBuell »

I know I have a Commodore 64 thread going, but I thought this may get a bit more attention. At Atari Age, somebody mentioned that Kay Bee toys has those Commodore 64 direct-to-tv dealies for a mere $10. Assuming you have a KB near you, and you want one, that is an awesome deal (QVC sells them for $30) of course, they are easily hacked, as you may have seen.

I put the schematic up for a reason.....
To answer your question, probably. You'll just have to hook up the corresponding pins to their points on the board. You'd also need to cut power to the internal rom.

Both are more informitive and less pic intensive...

If I can get my hands on a USB keyboard, the floppy drive for the Commodore and a new spool of wire I'll try that mod out. Just to make note my Gateway has a ps/2 I want a usb keyboard to replace it and than I have a keyboard for the Commodore.

No I have a PS/2 keyboard, if I can get a USB I'll use that with my computer and the PS/2 for the Commodore. I dont want to remove the keyboard from my computer unless I move it.

Computer equiqment isnt that cheap in my area. I wish it was but wish does nothing. Besides I kind of hate the PS/2 keyboard I have. and if push comes to shove I can use the USB keyboard with my mac too.

SpongeBuell: D'oh! They closed the KayBee in my hometown. I'll see if I can get my dad to run to a nearby one though (because I am definitely interested) :) Is this a verified deal or a rumor?
