case for a n64

Yes it is nice to be able to put your projects INSIDE something isn't it? You know, to hold everything together so it doesn't flop around? Discuss the techniques here!

case for a n64

Post by ATOMICMAN »

i have this up in the n64 forum to show my progress but i want more input for the case itself...

thats a rough drawing of about how i want it laid out. (go go mad ms paint skills)

im planning on using either some pvc drain pipe or some other round large piece of plastic (maybe the bottom of 5 gallon bucket?).

i want to top it off with some clear plexi and paint the inside for a smoother look on the front (masking off the window area for the screen) or is painting the inside a bad idea since the sides will not be the same?

im pretty good with bondo (plenty of practice on cars) so i can fill the seams and make the sides uniform and on the inside reinforce the front (the back will be screwed on).

good ideas, improvements, or just plain stupid?

I have played games that were laid out in a circle pattern, and I personally don't like them. They feel like I'm trying to play a dinner plate to me. I like rounded edges, though. I would suggest maybe flattening out the edges where your hands would hold onto and making the trigger buttons set more into the side of the case.
