Can itt run off double AA's? If so, at least an hour on 4 AA's?

If you get regular non-rechargable batteries, I'd say about 10 hours.

I'd approximate the draw at 275mA (based on what I've seen with the hipgear screenpads of the same size), haven't measured though.
