Electronics question..

Post by Kyosho »

I'm relatively new to electronics, and I've got a question which I hope has a good answer.

Is there a way to allow current to go one way on a wire, but not the other? Lets say I have a wire which I want power to be able to travel from right to left, but not left to right. Is there something I can solder in, in between the two ends of the wire, to do this?

Your's looks kinda MS-Paint'ed. Did you make that yourself, or just Google it?

(Before you edited your post...)

Sheesh, aren't we a bit mean to this guy? Yes, it is a diode.

Nice! You should go w/ PNG on screenshots though (Assuming it's a simple HTML hack & not a Photoshop...), since the compression of JPEG gives it that horrid (compressed?) look...
