Support Beam!
Hey, Im doing my case WEIRD< thats right.
Heres the dealio, okay Im putting my screen on the same way the screen goes on a PS1, BUT, Instead of putting it behind the ps1 like that, Its going ontop (Due to excess wires), and when ever I set the screen intop it falls down, so before I use velcro, I need some kind of support beam to hold it up.
Any ideas?

Like I'll explain it, as I cant take a pic the screen keeps falling.
Okay, You guys know how the PS1 screen goes into the back of a PS1 right?
Well its gonna be like that on my portable, EXCEPT, instead of sitting in the back like that, its going to stand ontop.

Like shown here, but instead of the screen hooked to the back, its will be standing ontop.
So just imagine that, the screen is ontop of the Portable, not going into the back. (Im doing a NES portable)

So this portable is definetly not going to fit in your pocket?Sword_Gun wrote:YES:D:D
But the screen needs some kind of support beam that goes angled to the back (Like a picture frame that goes on a desk)
To get it to stand, so heres my question, how do I make a support beam for it?
Wouldn't it be easier to build the screen base into the rest of the portable?

I don't really understand why the screen isn't just going to be mounted on the back.
As for your support beam, you could always just leave the bottom hinge part of the PSOne screen attached, drill/cut holes in the case and the hinge's plastic cover to get the wires to the mobo, then hot glue/epoxy the plastic hinge cover/screen combo where you want it. Then you can:
A) Cover all that up with bondo, sand, and paint the whole case.
B) Get engraving plastic that's the same color as your case and craft a makeshift "box" to surround all the epoxy/glue mess.
Good luck,

That seems like the best/easiest thing to do, and the screen will still be able to fold down.CronoTriggerfan wrote:I don't really understand why the screen isn't just going to be mounted on the back.

Putting it on top is kind of like going around the block to get next door, but if you have to have it up there, then use a support. Think these things out, and you'll figure it out: you even said that anything like the stand on a picture frame would work. Then use that. If you want it to lie flat, use a hinge. It took about 5 seconds to figure that out. Here is a picture:
