Good console shell to Frankenmod

Yes it is nice to be able to put your projects INSIDE something isn't it? You know, to hold everything together so it doesn't flop around? Discuss the techniques here!

Good console shell to Frankenmod

Post by CronoTriggerfan »

Okay, I'm commissioning Triton to make me a frankenmodded case for my SNESp, (old case died a terrible death  ) and I need to know what case you guys think would be the best to frankenmod. Since it's gotta hold my current SNESp guts and such, it'd have an external controller, SNES mini mobo, PSOne 5 inch LCD, and an externally mounted RC car battery with a protruding female connector as the on/off switch. The controller and the batt are gonna be mounted with velcro. So, what case should I use? I was thinking of using an SNES revision one shell, but I wanted to broaden my horizons a bit. What else is usable? The only cases I will NOT use are the Xbox case and anything pre-NES. Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks,
CTFan

Hmmmmmm.......would an N64 be big enough to mount an external controller? It'd have those circly things in the corner, too......i dunno, I gotta think.

And a Genny 2 would have SO much irony!

So you're saying do a NES case, but make it smaller/updated? That would be pretty cool!

Here's an idea - an NES case, but make the top and bottom work like a laptop; that is, opens on a hinge.

Ya, someone did that only with an NESp. It's somewhere but I don't feel like digging up the link. It was cool, but I want something more along the lines of a handheld.

Nah, Turbo just frankened up an old NES case and made a handheld. I found it, though, and it was actually jeffslot! Here's the link to the topic if anyone wants to see: http://benheck.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php? ... bda6d5484f

yay someone actually liked my idea!!!!

SOOOOOOOO HAPPY!

Anyway think about the NES case it is very plain and square

Plain = easyto make cosmetically cool
square = easy to mod and is very universal

The original had a monoral av out and a video out
IF you want to hav av outs you can mod those to the stereo outpu spo and mod the RF outlet to be video

Also, take the door on the NES and see if you can put a SNES controller out in that door eh eh ....

now cut the top for a screen, cart port, and built in controller

paint it red and keep the original black stripe( thought you would like that sort of thing

Theres my ideas for a fraken case

ENJOY!!!!! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:
