Download it here, from Dark_AleX's site!
The free_porn_sites.html is a joke to get people to read the readmes!

Make sure you don't don't have a TA-082 PSP or you WILL brick!

Wow, you put the solder and the iron on opposite sides of the board? (I just watched episode 1)

These are some nice videos! I need to watch the rest of them, and maybe I'll magically start to not destroy everything I touch with a soldering iron!

Though I think I'll stay with my custom 1.5 firmware instead of updating to the 2.71 SE-A. I'm not sure what X-flash would do to that... and I love my custom font and gameboot far too much to give that up.

Xflash boots you out if you run it on 2.71 SE-A. PSPSet works for gameboots and fonts though.

PSPSet? I'll have to look into that, then.

I'll probably flash the new firmware tomorrow night. My batterie's kinda low right now.

Thanks for that info!

EDIT: I flashed 2.71 SE-A and then used PSPset to remove the gameboot (I was disappointed not seeing any font flashing options) and I just about bricked. I used the recovery mode and installed 2.71. Then I downgraded back to 1.5 and I'm reflashing HarleyG's custom firmware right now. I think I'll stick with it and Xflash for now. Maybe I'll update when SE-B comes out. But not right now. I'm not liking it too much.

RE soldering 101

Post by TRex3166 »

Pretty good information, I would've spoken a little on tinning and cleaning the iron. I like to keep a damp sponge handy for cleaning. Tinning is when you are ready to solder, you melt a little solder, then wipe it off on the sponge, the result is a fresh thin coat of solder on your tip, which helps the solder flow smoother and faster.

well I had a thread with a tip in it, but some mod locked ity so here it is:

If you want to solder perfectly,
check out my secret:

1-buy some 0.032 solder from radioshack that comes in a tube.
2- coil a 1' long strand or more around your index finger.
3- stretch out 3 inches of straight solder from the coil and touch the connection.
4- place iron on solder for less than a second and melt it over connection.
5-presto, you have the perfect connection!

this works everytime for me, just point to the spot you want solder on!
i'll post pics later, but my camera broke
