Funky Screen-Controller thingy

Hey Gannon as I'm pretty sure you've done this or at the very least someone else, can I redue the required voltage and current draw by doing the LED back light mod?

I've seen somebody say that by removing the power supply for the backlight and doing the led mod it can work on around 7.2-8V, but I'm not quite sure.

:?: :o Just a thought but couldn't you run bith the portable guts AND the screen over the screens power sorce? It has a ac adapter which wold give the screen 12v or some thing, and 12v is good for both a 7505 AND a 7508, so... couldn't it be done? :o :?:
