Hey Gannon as I'm pretty sure you've done this or at the very least someone else, can I redue the required voltage and current draw by doing the LED back light mod?

I've seen somebody say that by removing the power supply for the backlight and doing the led mod it can work on around 7.2-8V, but I'm not quite sure.
