Wooo update!!

Post by Rekarp »

Update time.

I redid the controller pads to make them thinner by 1/8". Essentially I put the resistors, switchs, and traces on the same side. Next I wired up the New DC-DC convertors to replace the linear voltage regulators I was previously using.

The DC-DC convertors gave me a 200mA reduction in total amps consumed by my NES and Screen (from 650mA to 450mA). Total estimated battery life of 5.5 hours.

contra woo! If you look at the multimeter you can see the .45A reading.

Close up of the New DC-DC components. Those where a pain to hook up but i think an increase of 1.5 hours is worth it 8) .

My camera ran out of batteries before I could take a shot of the controller boards so I will do so in the next update.

Tomorrow the goal is to get this NESp done!

 Now that I see it compleated, I love it! :D

The contrast of the buttons to the case looks great and I love the wood look. I was planning to stick to plastic, but seeing this I'm not sure.

Wow, very nice. Can you take a picture of the back with the door open?
Also, do you have a picture of the guts?

Sure I will have to find a digital camera first as I do not have one here in Austin.
What DC-DC Converters did you use?
Lets see I used a PTH08080WAS for the 5V NES and a PTN78000WAS for the 7.4V to the screen.

Thanks Triton, couldn't have done it without the NES 8) .
