@dudex77: To fit the astropad in a nes case would be easy, but you'd have to cut the 2de vmu port, and remove the buttons pcb and solder tap switches or cuted part of the nes pcb under the buttons in order to fit everything, both whole pcb wont fit. I also know of the make a genuine sega analog stick non-analog(digital) using other buttons that the stick itself, simply put a wire to put connection of the button (ex: analog left) and put another wire to ground, use a tap switch to link them, then when you'll press the tap switch, it'l be like if you're full pressing the analog left.
@11up: I still think it ain't that easy to desolder a vmu port connector and solder everything on the lil slippy vmu port pins, and I made a chart too, because I use a 9-connector wire ...
