Oh yes, some parts are balsa wood. As I also make model aeroplanes I have several kinds of wood(that's an advantage):).

Thanks. The one I used isn't American NTSC GENESIS, but European PAL MEGA DRIVE 2.

I have another question :) Are those buttons you used flat on top or are they like the original Genesis/Megadrive controller (meaning diagonal).
It always pissed me off that I wasn't able to use those buttons cause they would stick out really akward if I put them in.

They are diagonal, not flat although I desired them to be flat, too. As you can see from the photos form A to C and X to Z they are gettin lower because the pc board is flat.

I can give you a hint: Z button should be your source for calculating; use Z button at the same level with the front surface of the controller and then stick the pc board according to Z button. The Z button still works fine even if it's at the same level with the outer surface and the rest surely because the shortest is the Z button.

Beautiful work my friend. Could you *please* show shat version of the Mega Drive/Genesis you used? It looks remarkably small from the pics and I am dying of curiosity ;)

Oh, very thanks. It's, I think, a half-clone version. I bought it in original Sega Mega Drive retail box used from an online auction site. On the mobo somewhere it wrote Sega and under its original case also it wrote Made in Japan. But it's smaller than the usual Sega Mega Drive mobo why I don't know for sure.

Here is an example:

from a well-known Turkish online auction site.

Shall I buy it for you? It's about 30 USD right now without shipping. Isn't it expensive? Also the auction is a ten-day auction and 5 days left which means that item will possibly get a few more bids.
