I hope this might come in handy. It might only be a little thing, but it does cut back an ext. switch, and if you have a dc jack that switches so the batteries don't blow, then a portable is almost fool-proof.
For awhile now I've been working on making an automatic controller switch, and I decided to build it myself too.
Well, I threw that idea out the window and I opted for something a lot easier. What I did was I bought a submini spdt lever switch and I put it in the side of the player 1 controller port. I felt that even though this solution provides a somewhat larger switch, it is much easier.
How did you position it on the controller (the picture didn't help much). I was just wondering how you put it on because I was considering trying something like that myself.
I cut a hole in the side and glued it in so that the lever switch is slightly above flush with the inside of the port. I need to glue it in with some super glue though since the hot glue I used at the moment is to spongy and allows for som movement of the switch.
I got a sub-mini lever at radio shack and mine has a little ball bearing like thing on the end that I think i'm going to take off, but i'd like to know where you soldered the pins on the board. Casue i'm kind of confused on that. Sorry if it's a noobish question.
Yeah, the soldering points are the 1st and last pins. the middle one should just be n/c. Also, be carefull when cutting the hole. This method should work with any console also, which is why I like it a lot.
