how dangerous are amps for the n64?

could i end up frying it?

the N64 will only use the amps that it needs, but if the voltages are higher than they are supposed to be you could fry it.
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

can someone point me to a place that sells the relevant dc dc converters to change 7.2v to 3.3v and 5v?

For a dc-dc converter that takes it down to 3.3v look no further the the car adapters for cell phones or disc-mans. They take a 12v down, I'm sure they'll work with 7.2 as for the 5v the only thing I can think of that be better is an LDO, but not completely sure (I havent seen any car adapters that outpur 5 thats why).

BTW does anyone know where i can get little copper pins for changing the game port.

The circuit you posted uses a regulator, not a DC-DC converter.

Check mouser.com and digikey.com for parts.
