Please search in the future.

The Dreamcast uses 12v, 5v, and 3.3v. As for how many amps, I'd say 2 amps should be the bare minimum.

So what's recommended for a power source? For instance, I have a 6v RC car battery, but I doubt that's enough power and wiring it could be messy. What have others used?

What about a battery pack for two 9v batteries? I only ask because with my noobishness that might be easier.

9v batteries don't have much power to them, they won't even last as long as AAAs would.

That's because the 9v battery is made up of 6 AAAs.

As for batteries really jump on ebay and look for R/C batteries rated at 7.2v. Very simple or you could look for a DVD player's battery, many of them are 14.4v and have a capacity of 4000mA or more.
