Composite scart lead - any point in proper scart?

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

Composite scart lead - any point in proper scart?

Post by groovemeister »

Now, I know that the later consoles have no RGB capability, I read on a thread here that only the original 96 model did, but I've got one of the much later coloured models.

What I'm wondering is that bearing in mind that the N64 has no RGB ability, does having a proper scart lead as opposed to composite to scart (therefore composite quality lead) make any difference?

Any advice appreciated. :D

I've got the official Gamecube scart, but on the switchbox for RGB mode, the screen blanks. I'm wondering if I should get another proper scart (so I've got one for GC, one for N64) or plump for the cheaper composite.

If I remember right, the pal n64 can be modded to output rgb by a company in Germany. They use some sort of D/A converter to convert the rgb signal into a useable signal.
