Another reason to add to my hate of Microsoft!
Microsoft made a large deal with Sun Microsystems around September 16, 2004. If you have a copy of Open Office that was installed after April 1, 2004, or if you distributed a copy after that date, Microsoft can sue the $%*# out of you! If you want to get around this new deal, you have to buy Sun's new Open Office type program that they call StarOffice, but the thing is that you have to BUY it, no more open source for us!

Microsoft holds the right to sue you, it doesnt mean they will. The agreement wasoriginally aimed toward the developers, not the users. There is a hole in the clause that allows them to sue the users. Also, StarOffice isn't new. Prior to 1999 StarOffice was open source, but sun bought out its parent company. They then created an open source clone to StarOffice which happened to be OpenOffice. OpenOffice is based off of StarOffice. Do you really think MS will go after all the users of OpenOffice? Thats just absurd.
