It's kinda like this:

SMS = Sega's NES
Genesis = Sega's SNES

genesis is way easier to make from what I hear.

if you wanna portablize one, do the genesis, you'll find it more rewarding, easier, and you'll have a wider selection of something to do, like Art Alive.

Master system is 8 bit.
Where as the much loved
genesis is 16 bit and plays sonic 2.

I think you'll make the right decision.
Meh... So I don't post much?

Go to vgmuseum.com to see pics and screen shots of the Master System. I would also recommend doing a Genesis. First, because it is easier. Secondly, because you can buy a Master Gear adaptor and play SMS games on a Game Gear (I have one and it rocks, I really like to play Rampart on road trips). The Game Gear is a portable SMS, most Game Gear games are SMS ports.

Sega Master System had some very old games and a lot of them lack in the gameplay department. I wouldn't recommend opening up a master system anyways due to the rareity of it as well.

If you want a SMSp then buy a Game Gear and get the converter for it.

There's also an adapter for the Genesis to get it to play SMS games, but I somehow doubt it will work with the Radica. :(
