Genisis portable
I was looking at a target add today and found this it looks like it would be great for building a genisis portable maybe not becuase theres no cart slot but there might be a way to get one on im not sure.
I think there was already a forum post about this. I remember people talking about replacing the flash card(or whatever holds the games) with a cart slot, but I don't think anyone ended-up buying it. You can do a search if your interested in it.

Well, I ripped out the ROM on the Radica Genesis and I managed to desolder the cart port from a Genesis2. I have yet to put these together. There's a couple of things stopping me. 1) I have no clue how to efficiently match up the cart connector pins to the contacts for the ROM other than pure trial and error, which could probably end up taking years. I need some technical info to at least make good guesses. 2) my soldering skills are kind of weak. I need to practice more. Last week while trying to desolder some stuff, I put my SNES2 board out of comission until further notice.
That was my wake up call to do some more experimenting with soldering on junk I don't care about.

I have no idea if this would work, but couldn't you take apart a genesis cartridge and, if it has a similar enough ROM in it, just use the pinout from that?scherzo wrote:Well, I ripped out the ROM on the Radica Genesis and I managed to desolder the cart port from a Genesis2. Yeah if you look in the 16bit Fourm one member has started on it. The last thing I read from him was he was trying to get the cart attachment from his genesis to the Radica, he need the pinout. Dont know he he's done anything more.
