no i mean the power switch on the n64. im stripping the board..can i take the reset button off?

At N64 positive. Just run a wire parallel to that(granted that your power source is 7.2V-9V).

I believe that some games used it when you saved the game(like Zelda on NES). I don't know if any N64 games used it, but I think all the reset button does, is pull one CPU pin high(or low).

no n64 games use it. i dont have to so i wont. today i solder the other ends of the wires to the cartridge slot

i just thought of something!! you know how the metal around the cartridge lot is touching the ground rails on the mobo, maybe this is important!! maybe we all need to solder a cable from the rail to the slots shield!
