POWER SUPLY SUPER THREAD!!!!

Post by cennar »

ok all post up what you got and the problems you have faced...

mine:
Iru120633 voltage regultor and 2 10uf tantalum avx capacitors- gets 3.3
7805 volt regulator- gets 5 volts
and i cant remember the 12volt part.. but thats ok the problem is in the 3.3
aparently if i use the 3.3v with that reg and caps (yeah i ripped it from the N64 guide some dude made cant remember who...) but any ways thats probly the best yet ecept that i cant find any components localy and there is a huge heat isue if i do that... I'm still curious about what portablesystems.net guy used for the first confermed DCp

any ways any one have a good idea about what to do here?

that's my guide you got the 3.3v thing from 8) . the other way to get the voltages you need is use the DC-DC thing from a gamecube: it outputs 3.4v, 5v, 12v (i think), and 1.somethingv.

Cennar said he doesn't have a GCN anymore. It would be good to take out of broken GCNs though.

I think this is a good thread, and it shouldn't be locked. I wonder if there is anywhere that you can buy the adaptor by itself.

i tryed the Game cube thing it didnt work at all... but now i dont have a cube or a cube PSU to try it with.

maby it doesnt like 3.4 only 3.3.. any ways i was thinking of any one else who is working on one could share there information since im having little luck with the heat situation right now.. of and if they have components ill trade!
