take the metal stuff of to see if you can see any darkened spots. my friends ps2 did the same thing, but water spilled on his. then i was fixing someones ps2 and i couldnt get the video to show up, but then i used a different connecter and it worked. try that. if you get a new ps2, keep your old one and start fixing kids ps2's.

maybe there's a fuse that goes to something that makes the video like the gpu or cpu or something like that...Maniac_Man wrote:no fuses on video lines, ive checked a website that had all the fuses shown and what they went to. i couln't find a video fuse.
yeah sometimes that fixes wierd things. my psone screen was showing negative colors on wall power but it's perfect on batteryelixirnova wrote:im gonna try runnin it off the AA instead of power supply

Im rewiring the power to the screen right now and seeing if it still works
Im utterly confused for the ps2 but guess ill figure out if i can salvage the screen still *solders power wires down after breaking connector...
*
edit: well all soldered and no video i dont think its workin either.
although on the voltage regulator next to the AV out on the ps2 board that was the only source of heat after about 5mins. No heat from anywhere else but there?
Andi wonder why the led isnt lighting up anymore on the lcd voltage regulator maybe ill tinker some more
NEWS FLASH: THank G0|) -_- The screen lights up with the batterys attached which is a big relief to me... figuring it was already mounted in the case but anyhow thats an online order i dnot have to wait for.
I may go out and buy a new ps2 this weekend but first im gonna finish rewiring the 3 pieces of controller i cut up(yea that means full analog support
) As for now ive got a swim meet to wake up for in 4 hours so im off to bed... Any other ideas on my ps2 would be appreciated too...
Review: voltage regulator near A/v port heats up.
Dvd drive does nothing
reset button red and green when pressed and when held will standby
open button does nothing/no light
fan works
controller lights come on
no blackness on the board
reset/open 6-7pin ribbon cable has a short but dont have a spare to test if that is it...
