9volt battery Straight to PsTwo?
well i have a PStwo Slim and i was thinking of just pluging in the 9volt battery into the back. Think it could handle the 0.5 volts of extra? also just got a pelican gameglass screen and its freaking nice. werks on 8.5 volts to and plugs right into the back so it runs off the pstwo's power.

Accually Ben used a DVD player battery rated at 9v 4800mA. He bought it at Walmart.daz wrote:ben had 6 li-ion batteries in is ps2p. that's 2 in series and 3 in parallel. So the ps2 will run on 7.4v?
And to answer your question about which configuration of the batteries would be best. Go with 11.1v 13000mA, this would be best as the PS2 uses 8 and with many electronics being 0.8v short will not cut it.

thanks a lot guys. By the way here is the specs on the battery ben used:

7.2v li-ion batteries are rated 9v because they can go as high as 9.6v on a fresh charge, but goes as lower than 5v when deplited and close to damage.

Well all battery's voltage drops. The thing about NI-MH and Li-ion is that they dont drop at a rate like the alkiline or Ni-CD. As best I know Li-ion will drop the voltage to a point the device stops working close to the point the battery is out of power anyways.

The Wal-Mart battery has extra components that up the voltage from 8.3 (full charge) to 9.6v. THat's why it's a 5400 battery and not 6 amps even. The PSTwo will not run off 7.4v...only 8.3+
and Daz, I haven't tested the playtime on the 11.1v but it should get around 2 hours. The other way I used two batteries- a 7.4v 5400 and a 9.6v (wal mart one) at 5400. I got about 4 hours off those two but I rather use just one battery for the whole system

gamelever--I don't know where he got his but I recommend www.jameco.com for li-ion batteries. They have 2000- 2400 mah AA size cells for $5 each.
