Overclock the Dreamcast

Post by Sparkfist »

Well I thought the Dreamcast fourm could use a jolt of life.

I was remembering a recent episode of the screensavers where they had this kid come on and he had an overclocked genesis. Well I looked up the thing to see what was involved, well my mind wondered (as it often does) and I looked up overclocking the Dreamcast. Well I found a nice site they as the instructions. http://matttortolani.t35.com/DCOC.htm

I'm thinking of doing this but as all I have are PSO and Grandia II it would do very little in the way of purformance inhancement.

Enjoy.

Edit 1: I thought someone would like thism and I dont like to make two topics if I can help it. You can get an overclocked genesis or NES from here or do it yourself. http://www.digitpress.com/overclock.htm

Funny you should mention Playstation, I found an overcloxk for it only minutes after my edit. As for the N64 well a simple search of the fourm would show the thread with the link.

I was thinking of looking for an overclock of the PS2, but considering the PS2 already has heat issues overclocking would be risky in my view.

lol, yeah, I bet it would be a little risky, and plus, I haven't had much lag with the ps2.

I think that info should be added to the MOBO page on doomportables, or in a section called overclocking. I know it has nothing th do with portables, but it is still helpful and cool.

Well I thought instead of just mentioning it I'd post the site that tells how to overclock you PS(X). http://www.geocities.com/robivy64/Playstation67.html

Also the idea of making asection for oveclocking your systems doesnt sound bad, but until one of us on the MB does it iand has a better guide I think just putting the links up would be fine.
