What exactly is RF interference (like were does it emanate or originate from?)
what are the traditional 'symptoms' from getting RF interference?
(for SNES if I need to be more specific)
and lastly, what can I do to prevent RF interference?

RF interfernce is caused by the natural static "ghosts" and electromagnetic radiation that exist in the air around us. It is just alternating signals that cause the actual signal to be screwed up. Wrap some aluminum foil around your video wire a few times, and tie it to ground.

Yeah, nos_slived pretty much summed it up. Also, you're gonna get less RF interference away from the big cities, and even less in the countryside, just so you know.
