laptop screen hacking

Is there any way you can hack a laptop screen to use component video
if not is there a way to get it to use what a normal computer monitor uses
(isnt that called rgb) ok well thnx in advance for your help

ahh.. ye olde laptop LCD question...

generally, you would need the controller card to get it to work with VGA (what a computer screen uses) and there isn't any known way to get it to work with composite. If you're an electrical engineer it's probably possible, but it'll be more trouble than it's worth. This should go into the pocket tv hacking, though.

is it possible to make/find a controller card easily? could i find one on the laptop the screen came from

If you're lucky, you might find it near the screen connector.

if i found it how would i get it to work? and how do i which one it is? is it like a chip? there is one area were the screen connects and there's a vga out would it probably be around there? thanks for all your help, and sorry I'm such a noob

The the constroller card is often integraded into the laptop's motherboard. It isnt a chip. If you luck the card is seperate and you can use it that way. Otherwise of your looking to get a card to use with it (thats compatible) earthlcd.com had a larde inventory that you can look through.

Like Spongebuell said it will be more trouble to do this then just buy a ragualar lcd screen (much cheaper too).

You know sorry I cant type and it gets really sloppy when I move fast. Why not do what I do with other post and correct the words in your mind.
