3V coin batteries like that only hold a few hundred mAh if that, and since the draw of the 3V line is over 1A, it wouldn't be a good idea.

were you talking about using them for the 3V line, or the 5V line? If they hold a few hundred mAh a piece, you could probably use a few in a parallel/series circuit with a ldo regulator to give you a few hours on the 5V line, although it might be better to use 4 aaa's instead.

Even though you can use 3 volts, I have always used a 7.2v to 3v car adapter, it doesn't produce perfect picture and sound quality. There is some slight banding and there is some static sound which you can really hear with the volume up :( . Just saying that if you can, try to go with 3.3v instead of 3.
