i found a very ingenius way to do that with my first two portables, i had a 6 inch scsi pass through cable, with male on one end and afemal plug on the other, if u bent the pins on the male part, it would go right into the n64, and the cart plug would just plug into the female end of the adaptor.. worked great, just that got damaged in my last portable, now im gonna eithe rhave to find another, or solder each pin

If you can find a place that sells male-male adaptors/connectors, that is the way to go.

i put a lot of thought into actually soldering each wire, which is probly what ill have to do this time, any pictures of how u did yours would be neat, when i get my camera ill take a pic of my old cable, so you can see what i mean

hey *o*,

I've had a few problems with mine as well. I couldn't get a picture to come up even theough the N64 is on. I actually soldered mine in the end. I used a SCSI cable, cut it down, and plugged the cart in the other end.

I'm actually now going to go and solder to the cart slot itself and hope that works. Hopefully so, ALthough I've just bought a new N64 off of eBay.

Also when you say, you don't think the pins go in far enough, do you mean, far enough into the N64 board or far enough into the SCSI cable?

hey *o*,

when you say pins, do you mean the pins on the pin headers or the pins on the cart slot going into the scsi cable?

I actual;ly soldered directto the pins yesterday and still nothing, so i may just give up this N64 and get another one.

I've got some pin headers coming, so I'll do it that way next time.
