My First Custom NES (Matte Black / Glossy Gray / Blue LEDs)

Post by TSX420J »

Here is my first custom NES I made for a friend. Not as cool as an NESp but still is pretty sweet. I have to get some red vinyls cut for all of the lettering. I was also going to add a Plexiglass bottom plate with blue LED illuminated edges but he wants to sell it so I'm not going through the trouble (although it is easy to do).

Thanks!! I'm so tied up right now with all my modding that I have been slacking on getting the vinyls made for the text on the NES. Soon I will post pics of the final tweaks. Thanks again, BTW your mods are sick!!!

Thanks!!! I was inspired by CustomNESguy's work. He is really talented at painting. The clearcoats on his creations are a work of art in itself. I am a amateur when it comes to spraying clear, let alone wet sanding and polishing it. His come out like a mirror finish. Its not easy, especially on the corners. Just a little too much wet sanding in a spot where the paint and clear are thin and you end up burning through the paint. It is the worst feeling when that happens. I give him a lot of credit for his work. Thanks again!!

Thanks, my friend sold it :( Guess Ill make another sometime. I have 2 nes's my friends gave me to repair for them. One of them is thinking of having me do this for his nes because it has a lot of discoloring. I'll keep everyone posted on my future projects. Thanks for the kind words. :)
