GRR!!!

I just bought 8 D size batteries and have 6 of them in wired together via a 3$ battery box. I hooked it all up to the snes and guess what???

Yup, That's Right.

No Sound.

Is there something wrong with D batteries??? They're totally brand new.

Is there absolutely ANY other possibility? I'm at a loss.

In series...

I want to say yes.
All the batteries are new, and it looks exactly like this:

Where the blue wires are in the battery box, and the red ones are connected together by my own wiring. Mind you, the red wire to the right isnt connecting the batteries directly together, but i cant draw an snes, so imagine one in between.

When was the last time the sound was working? What wiring did you still need to do then?

I still say that you should just give up and try AC power again and see if you fried the board somehow.

Seconded; if something goes wrong when you're messing with electronics, go back to the last working step and check to see if it still works. If it doesn't, you've probably broken something ;)

Odds are, if you soldered the battery pack on, you have either left it heating too long and shot something, or heated another connection enough to disconnect.
