Battlefield 3

Post by MrAfterFx »

This is going to be the most realistic FPS when released, the PC version will have 64 players online with full construction capabilities and realistic ballistics with each gun. I hope you like the gameplay videos (I do because I am a huge battlefield fan!) :

hear good things about the Development team, some criticized it was too cartoony looking in early stages... I don't see any of that here. though I'm not a shooter guy and I'll be looking at this one as things go on.

Should add, I do look at these sorts of games like propaganda.
Will comment further on more appropriate forums. I'm looking more forward to GTA Palestine. one day Rock star will have the nads to make it a reality and not just some fantasy in my head.

I know I won't be able to just max all the settings as soon as I start it, like I can do with every game I own. Bad Company 2 just barely stays smooth with the settings maxed (I only run 1366x768), I'm pretty sure this will require me backing down a notch or two (or more OC  ).

i'm still rocking a pentium 4 desktop when i actually use a desktop  i do have a lenovo desktop with a dual core athalon but its only got integrated graphics so its useless for anything more than HD video. the desktop i want would run me around a grand to build, maybe a little less with some judicious parts selection. i have too many other real world concerns to deal with to be blowing that kind of cash lol. i'm the kind of person who buys games when they dip into the sub 30$ range (closer to 20 than 30 lol)

I hear ya there. The most expensive game I've bought was Portal 2 at $30. Everything else has been $15 or less (thank goodness for Steam's sweet sales).

Back on topic, I already think Bad Company 2 is better than COD. Why? Destroyable environment. You see a fool shooting out a window and ducking down? Why wait for him to stand up, when you can get out your grenade launcher and blow up the wall and him? :P

one of my biggest pet peeves is these FPS games that are aiming for realism, yet you can stand behind a wooden door, sheet tin, drywall or something else equally stupid and be perfectly safe from all small arms fire including high power rifles :wtf:

My point exactly I am not a COD fan I am a Battlefield fan and it's been that way for me since 2005 when BF2 came out, my friends were so pissed that it wasn't for console so we always crowded around the PC to take turns (I'm a nice guy :)).

Just ordered 2 5870's for this game!

At some point I'll need a computer for this range of specs any way. I saw a computer just loaded with ram the other day for 50 bucks. if your real good at looking you could build a computer to match this for less than you think.

Look on craigs lists out of a big city and you'll see lots of computers going on sale because they are clearly hot. get one with ram striped and lots of HDD with a decent CPU, then go back on a week latter and get one with lots of ram no HDD and buy sepratly with the coin you saved an also hot Videocard. you could piece a nice one together in three 80 dollar machines or less I promise, just don't give out your address.

Dual 5870s and dual 6870s?
What have you done?

I'll be here with my 560ti enjoying the near-same experience for a fraction of the price.
