Wanted: GBA inside a netbook case.
I would like to buy a game boy advanced stuffed into a netbook case. Is it even possible do? I would like the LCD and if possible the Battery too of the netbook to be fully usable when done. Basically turning the netbook into a GBA. I know i could just throw linux or something on it plus an emulator. But I don't want that. I want the GBA's link port to be useable has well. and be able to still fit an action replay into the cart slot. Edit: almost forgot. Can an nes controller be wired to be used as the controls for this?, Preferably unplug-able.
I have an eee pc 900, I don't use. I would gladly ship it and an gba to anyone willing to try and stuff the netbook with the gba for me.
Let me know how much, you'll think it will cost for you to build this for me and the price to ship it to me when it's done.

Netbook internals are usually pretty crammed in their cases as it is. It would be pretty cool to see though.
Hackify me cap'n!

didn't think I was gonna get a reply this fast! Here's the thing, I'm short on cash til the first of may and currently don't have a gba. But now that I know I have a 1 person willing to do this, I'll start looking into getting a gba off ebay and seei if i can dig up some cash. Bills plus $90 a week for driving school has my cash a little low.
I don't require the netbook internals to still be useable, they can be tossed or whatever. I forgot the GBA has L and R buttons. So instead of a NES controller, I guess the next best thing to use would be a SNES controller.rickylago2 wrote:Netbook internals are usually pretty crammed in their cases as it is. I can get the parts if needed, and no rush! If you want, we can talk through PM's.

I think he misunderstood what was in mind. He was probably thinking of fitting a GBA inside of a otherwise stock, working netbook.hailrazer wrote:So how do you propose to use the netbook lcd. LOL

I'll most likely have to grab a different screen, no big deal. I just didn't mention it because i thought that'd be obvious.

How are you getting the video from the GBA to be something normal, like composite?
Re: Wanted: GBA inside a netbook case.
There are two models of av adapters.

I googled and could not find either available. Have you found a source?Bush wrote:There are two models of av adapters.
Re: Wanted: GBA inside a netbook case.
What about ripping apart a small usb game controller, modding the case, and adding more space between the body and LCD so you can close it? From there you can just run emulators (more than just GBA too).
