Hacking an Etch A Sketch eto -- Suggestions

Post by com64 »

I've got a couple of Etch A Sketch eto TV games laying around. I want to do something with them, but I don't have any ideas. It appears to have either a cartridge or serial port on the bottom. I think they were $4 at Toys R Us.

Well, you can draw stuff with the d-pad and it has some backgrounds and clip-art. It also has a maze game which is damn hard. I've managed to play through three levels of it I think. You know, if I had a PS1 screen and a roll of duct tape, I could make this into a portable console, Lol.

you would be right. He used it's shell as a case for a Radica portable.

Yep works alright for a Radica with 2.5" screen.

Still have my Etch-a-sketch portable here with me. It almost cost me a thumb so I'm holdin on to it until I have the feeling back in my thumb tip. :)

Sweet! Though I can agree that the d-pads are terrible with this... hey, maybe I can make a portable Virtual Boy :P I don't really have anything on hand that I can mod into it, but I might eventually order a Dingoo a320.

from north van right on. I just moved from Vancouver and Victoria a few months ago. Spent ten years there. In london for now, in ottawa as we type.

D-pad Sketching... well if that's what you want. I think it would be a cool addition to a console mod. Flip a switch and your playing starfox, flip it back and your etcha sketching.

Hmm... Maybe I can fit another TV game into there, or I could hack the etchasketch game into two joystick TV games. I'm going down to Value Village in Victoria tomorrow.
