ok so ive cracked my systems open ps2/psone and i want to portableize one really just for the re series but playing newer games would be nice to so which one would be easier ?

Are they the smaller, redesigned versions of those consoles?

If so, it's kind of a wash. The PS2 might wind up a little bigger and need more battery power, but it can play its predecessor's library and function as a portable DVD player.

the ps2 is the slim version and my ps1 i think is the clunk old version i just wanna use it for resident evil mostly

Look on the bottom of each of those, there are different revisions of the ps1 and ps2 that are different sizes internally. You're looking for a SCPH-xxxx number.

I'd go with the PS1, as the scph-9001 ps1 is really small inside, whereas the scph-70012 ps2 isn't the smallest ps2 (the smallest ps2 is the scph-90000 with integrated power brick).
