Re: GARAGESALES 2008-20XX!
Picked up a Genesis model 1 with two controllers and nine games all hook ups for 5.50, a grey NES Zapper for .75 and a NES max for .75.
The Genesis was marked like this 2 $5.50 at Goodwill I asked the lady if it was suppose to be 25.50 or 5.50 she got someone from the back and I told them I would be happy to give 5.50 and she actually took it. Usually they do not barter as well.
I also got a 19inch older TV for $10 to hook my older stuff to. It was half price because of the color of the week.

Re: GARAGESALES 2008-20XX!
My small town had their yearly celebration again yesterday. Which of course brings of the Yard Sales too. There were plenty of yards sales to be had. Just not much that interested me this year.
I did manage to get some cool stuff thought
- A TI-1200 with box from a Estate Sale for 50 cents
- A almost new Webcam and a PC headset for $1.50
- Mercenaries (Xbox) for $1
- Pink Video Now Color for a $1 (I got plans for this little guy or should I say girl?.)
- Konami Track and Field, NES cart Organizer, and a Gamecube preview DVD for $2. I later went back and got both a Sonic the Hedgehog book and a Power Rangers book for free.
- A cup of Pink Lemonade and a bag of Sun Chips for a $1 from a lemonade stand. It was ran by a cool little kid.
- And I got a broken Rock Band controller. They said strum stop working. And I got a working mid-80's Magnavox TV with remote for free. (The back of the TV says January 1986 to be exact,) Now I have a TV to use with my older systems.

Re: GARAGESALES 2008-20XX!
I think I scored well today.
Thanks to Freecycle, I got my self a Vtech Laser 128EX. With the Following: Magnavox RGB monitor, Manual, Laser Branded Mouse, external Laser Floppy drive, loads of software including GEOS, and a Epson printerr. All for free!

And I found a Radio Shack TRS-80 with manual. From a local classifieds site for $5!

I'm happy with my finds today

Re: GARAGESALES 2008-20XX!
Well, guess who was bored and decided to wander around Savers again? :V
I spotted this 25-in-1 thing hanging on the wall mixed with the random remote controls, Selectric ribbons, and 35mm cameras, and figured for $3 it should be good for a laugh.

(Click for full size)
The controls seem to line up with the NES as well.
D-Pad - Duh
Square - B (w/ turbo button)
Circle - A (w/ turbo button)
Reset and Start - Select and Start
L1 Shoulder Button - B
R1 Shoulder Button - A
It came with manuals in French, English, and Spanish. I only know one of those languages and unfortunately it appears to have been properly translated so there's no pigeon English to laugh at.
At least our old friend the Sad Onion makes an appearance on the back cover. The booklet shows you the "wide" range of games, including a couple vertical shooters, a couple Hang On clones, and the obligatory Bejeweled clone.

Five screws later here's the insides:

And finally a glory shot of its brains:

(Click for full size)
It seems to have some of the same games as the Gamespower 50 that Dr. Ashen reviewed a few years ago. Hmm.
I'll try making a video of the games on it later.

Re: GARAGESALES 2008-20XX!
Picked up a Super Gameboy for $8, and a multi cart for $10 at a fleamarket.
Got a 48 pack of red rain (tastes like red bull) for $30 at a wholesaler. So cheap! These are like $2 in stores.

I found one of these guys in a dumpster
http://www.arcade-history.com/pages/pop ... =25694.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Its in pretty good condition with the exception of some bent up metal on its shoulder where someone must have tried to pry off the top (for free gumballs). I'm lucky the snow didn't damage any of the electronic components inside. There's no lock box for change on the back either, but I'm going to try build one.
I'll be dumping its eproms later today, so I can protect them from bit-rot, and transfer them to flash memory. And who knows... maybe I'll be able to hack it to say something other than "Halt! My friends get presents when their good." as well as other cheesy lines

Re: GARAGESALES 2008-20XX!
I've been wondering the same thing. It doesn't have a visible copyright or patent that I can find, so it's kind of a mystery. I might try calling the company to see if I can buy a replacement piece for the part that got bent though, and when I do I can ask them how old it is.

Re: GARAGESALES 2008-20XX!
Got a 17" 1280x1024 LCD for $20
Though it is broken. (LCD panel itself is good)
Basically the Picture is all fuzzy and scrambled. (Its like trying to watch Old Over-the-Air TV broadcasts, with no antenna.)
LCD Panel I know is good, because all the monitor menus show perfectly fine.

Re: GARAGESALES 2008-20XX!
Wasn't a garage sale, but I snapped up a PSone screen at a used video game store for $20. I've stopped there pretty regularly every week or two and have never seen one there.
Re: GARAGESALES 2008-20XX!
I snapped up a used working Dreamcast with all the hookups, 2 controllers and 2 VMUs for about $20 a couple months ago. But that was probably my last good find as I haven't been yard sale-ing or been to Goodwill lately.

Re: GARAGESALES 2008-20XX!
I consider Goodwill to be a year-round garage sale, so here's my recent findings:
• Microsoft Sidewinder force-feedback steering wheel for $8. Replacement power brick was $20 at ratshack.
(was designed for Windows 98.
Works fantastic in Windows 7 on DiRT 2
)
• ~60" projector screen for $8. Was in great condition and is even a silver screen (higher contrast). Should be a perfect fit for this DIY projector project I've had laying around for a while.
• Three AC/DC albums (on CD), $1 each. Powerage (great), Flick of the Switch (also great), and Fly on the Wall (not quite as great).
