[*] Gamecube*

[*] Xbox*

Impossible and Impossible.

I have one of the best Laptops on the market right now. i7 Quad Core and Radeon HD5870 and I can only run a handful of Gamecube games fullspeed. And Xbox emulators are virtually non existent.
Hmm, understandable. (A quick aside - would a PS1 emulator be viable?) Thankfully I really have no need for a GC emulator (I have a Wii for that) and the only Xbox game I play is Blinx the Timesweeper (heheh :|) and I play that on the 360.

Really, PS1/N64 backwards are what's most important. Tis my much-missed childhood :'(

Yes Ps1 is quite easy.

Out of curiousity, what makes Gamecube emulation "impossible"? I don't really know much about the technicality of emulators, but Quadcore i7/Radeon 58xx > whatever's in a Gamecube, no? Anyways, that's my primitive logic, but there's got to be more to it.

Yeah, but in most cases of emulation, you're running code that isn't native to the system and isn't at all optimized for it. When the PC is running, besides any idle background processes that are running, it needs to read the game code, translate it on the fly, and then execute the code (run the game). To do all of that without any kind of slowdown takes raw processing power.

Imagine being bilingual and having to give a speech. Your speech is written by somebody else in Spanish, but you need to deliver it in English. Therefore, you aren't just reading it - you are reading ahead, translating entire phrases on the fly, while at the same time, trying to make sure your phrasing, cadence, and diction are do not suffer (no buffering!). It takes a lot more thought then just reading the words.

True, but that doesn't explain why I can play Smash Bros. Brawl almost full speed on my computer, but the guy with the i7 Quad Core and Radeon HD5870 (aka, twice as good as my computer) can only run a handful of gamecube games.

Never said I can't run Gamecube Games.

I said I can only run a handful at Fullspeed. Even with a smoking Pc there are still a ton of games that run slowly without frameskip.

Now try to run that on a micro pc with built in graphics. Aint gonna happen.

Fixed
I'm agree on the second point, though. Didn't mean to cause any confusion.

So you're saying that all the Gamecube games run full speed on your pc with no frameskip ?

When I said that I agree on the second point, I meant that it wouldn't be possible.
