another xbox 360 hardrive help!

as a project for a few hours to keep myself busy was to internalize a 20gb hdd. i got it all wired up right, but when i got to turn it on... it seems like its about to start but then just keeps looping. any suggestions?? REALLY need help

What happens when it is disconnected?

works 100% fine. what should i do?

make sure all the connections are good and not touching each other. i had the same problem and it took me a while to figure out why my xbox wouldn't go past the start up screen.

i had this problem,
if you leave it for a while it eventually red rings. but only the top left which is a hard drive failure
(E72 if i remember correctly)
mine works when i hold it on its side like so ||
if that doesn't work do as casper said and re wire it all,
or
reformat it
