I have a mac book and thinking about getting a macbook air, but I thought it would be awesome to put it into an old iBook case. Does anybody know if it is even possible??

Possible, but I don't think it's a good idea.
It's a TON of work, and you'd be making your ultraportable into a just plain normal portable.

those coloured ibooks go for around $500 for a used one now.

I have one of the original iBooks, they're pretty sweet, although I wonder how we ever used a screen that small.

200-300 is more common, the higher specced ones can go higher than that though
