Project Halcyon! GCp (Draft Pic Up!)

Post by thomasbradley »

N00bC00b Project Halcyon!

This is where I will be documenting my progress and taking tips(please!) from modders who are not n00bs like myself!

So far I have completed phase one: Disassembly xD Right now all I have is the guts of a Gamecube laying on my floor. Now I'm sure anyone who clicked on this already knows what this looks like so no pics haha

I'm working on getting a psone screen, and I'm looking for something to use as a case.

Also, big surprise; I'm including a Gameboy Player!! I don't think anyone has ever done that before so that should help set my Project Halcyon apart from the other various Porta-Cubes.

heh good luck man, i was thinking about making my portable gamecube sort of a hybrid like a hybrid car, let me explain

so i was thinking that i could have a second video port on the side of my casing, as well as a stand, and then a cover that can flip close and open for the screen, as well as having one controller port (heh dont worry the thing will have controls built internally), and have that split into four (to save space), so that I can hit a switch and have the power go back to the wall, and have the stand so i can set it down and cover to keep the screen safe, so that it can switch from that buit in screen to the tv screen, that way you can play it on the goo or, just like a console before i altered it, so you can do both....

but im first to all of this, so ill probobly do that with my ps1, first gamecube though

Woah that would be quite the portable haha. I'm hoping for mine to be able to run off both batteries and an outlet and have a switch to change which controller port I'm using. Nothing too flashy haha

What's everyone's opinion on keeping the rumble feature? I'm undecided on whether I should keep it or not...

So this is a super rough draft of what I want it to look like. Not drawn to scale. AT ALL. xD

id say you should move up the screen a bit but thats just me ive never been a fan of trying to grip onto my gameconsole from the top with controls at top ... imagine a topheavy ds

Gotcha, I'll put it into consideration! The screen will end up being a lot bigger in comparison to the controller too haha

its not extremely top heavy like bens first ps1p but moving the screen up a few inches so only th logo is under would probably fell nicer but thats just my opinion

Alright so I got a Zenith screen in the mail today and I think I'm ready to start getting work done on this thing. So does anyone have anything in particular I should specifically do or avoid? I'm going to be sticking close to kasar's instructions haha
