Power egulator

Hey I'm kinda new to this forums board, but I've got a pretty good idea about building portable game systems. I've already built a portable atari 2600 and found it very easy, except for the screen.
I'm now starting a PS2 project, and I have one problem- I need a good power regulator for it.
Can anyone suggest a good one that they've used?
oh and if its relevant I'm using two 6800 mAh batteries at 7.2 volts, Ni-Mh. I find Ni-Mh lasting far longer than LiPo, but you tell me your experience...
